Casa Tortuga was built over time by a former Hollywood master carpenter, drawn to the natural beauty of the area. The property was named in honor of the turtle rescue and release program that the owner and his wife spearheaded, working alongside volunteers from around the world to release up to 40,000 turtles annually.
